Kirk - well, at least now you know what to expect....better to know now than have high expectations and be disappointed.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I have stayed at Mahogony Tree twice (with previous owners), and though not luxury, we were happy there. The location is great! Hubby and I had the frame of mind that we were in paradise, so it would take a lot to dampen our spirits. Plus, it was very easy on the pocketbook.
You will have a great time - glad you contacted the agency now to let them know you're "in the know" about the previous occupants problems. Have a great trip! :)

Kirk...good for you.. Im glad now I did the report.. she apparently lied to me telling me the owner was going to see about the matters himself..Oh well...I do hope you have a wonderful trip inspite of my report. Maybe it has helped you out to let you know what to expect and at least request another villa

I never was expecting much, just that everything is in working order. let's face it, it's not the Peter Bay Beach House. if i could afford PBBH for a week, i would already be living on STJ full time.

Michelle did say they have been getting alot of compliants about the water pressure. could just be an easy fix like a clogged showerhead. to be honest with y'all, I don't think the owner really wants to put any money into the place while it's for sale.
To bad I don't have a extra $1,350,000 laying around. i'd buy it, fixed it up and make one of the unit into my love nest. then I would only rent to hot single twenty something females. god, I feel like a dirty old man just typing that.

Kirk,
I gotta agree with you working order is good...makes things better..:D...and if we had wanted luxury we'd rented luxury. Afterall you dont spend that much time in the villa..but its nice to be comfortable when you are there and we werent, I assumed we would get what the site said we would..but hubby says...will you be installing video cams for the 20 something females..

Just got off the phone with Michelle part 2.
they are moving me into the other unit on the 25th. so one night in caribsea. JJ..thank you sooooo much for posting this thread. it made it much easier to deal with this now then when i'm there. it seems the people staying there now have been calling about the lack of any real AC. they're dying from the heat and are not happy camper's.

ETA: Tell hubby no to the video cams. i'm not that big of a perv.

Thanks so much for posting your review. I have glanced at their site a number of times because it was a more economical place to stay and closer to town.

Hope you get back to STJ soon!

We stayed in the top unit two summers ago and were very disappointed. I don't remember what that unit was called. At night the bugs were so bad that you didn't want to turn the lights on. When we rented the unit, the old owners were still there and I think things have gone down hill since the place changed hands. I don't think I would stay there again.
