Is Dicsover Card accepted on STJ???

One of the ladies I'm traveling with just asked me this question and I have no idea since I don't have a Discover card.

Help?

Yes, we've used it at some places there, however, the only specific place I do remember using it was St. John Car Rental because we could decline their insurance if we used that card...

Discover is accepted in a very limited number of places. Don't count on it.

Within the last 10 years Discover had a big corporate event with the CEO, et al. at the westin and the week before they went through town and almost forced everyone to sign up and programmed everyone's credit card machines.

But that was awhile ago and I know two places that actually could accept it but the servers/clerks/floor managers are unaware because they get them so infrequently.

We take Discover in both our stores. I have no idea why more people don't accept it. At one time I remember hearing a rumour that merchants wouldn't sign up because Discover would not issue cards to V.I. residents, but I have no idea if that was true then or if it is true now.....
I wonder if the Discover company could provide a list of businesses on St. John which accept their card?
