August is definitely hot and humid, you'll have to stay wet. They water is warm and wonderful, the beaches are not crowded, and you can even find parking in Cruz Bay.
I'll be there in Aug. and have been before in Aug. It is hot and humid, but nothing compared to Houston right now. (YUCK) Make sure you have ac and plenty of sunscreen.
I love not having to deal with all the crowds. The cruise lines seem to not have nearly as many ships in port that time of year, and the water is warm and wonderful.
