looks like there is some kind of stand set up on the dock. Anyone know what's going on there?

It is for Carnival, I think. Ferries get really busy and they may use it as a ticket booth, but then agaain I could be wrong.

It is a kissing Booth, much like the Rum Punch Booth at the airport. If you are just getting to St. John you can kiss the Island hello......if you are leaving, you can kiss it good bye until you return for your next trip!!
Just kidding, of course.

The St John Fourth of July Festival Village opens tonight, and it looks to be a part of a booth. The Village is being called "Parisville", in respect to the Village's honoree, Camille "JuJu" Paris.
A kissing booth would be appropriate since St. John affectionately is called "Love City."
Peace,
bj

It absolutely depends on who is on the other side of that window.
