You probably will get used to it as you go along. It's nice to see all the posts on a particular subject together and have the ability to just scroll down. Keep trying. Anthony is trying to make this forum user friendly.

I think we all felt that way in the beginning, but after a weeks, you get used to it.

I hated it and told Anthony so but now I am so used to it, I probably owe him an apology.....Sorry and thanks for all you do!

I do appreciate the effort, but..... I don't care for it as much either.I also miss some of the regulars from before that have chosen[?] not to use this board. I admit to not having the slightest idea what Anthony could do to make it better. Some of the stuff is a little too cutesy for my pot of tea.

Where have all the old posters gone.....like JSS3? I have followed this forum for 5 years and it seems that so many of the previous posters have left. The one thing I miss about the old format was being able to see from a glance who has posted answers.

I agree with Patty about not being able to see at a glance as to who has posted. I think that's my personal least favorite thing on the new format.

I really like the new format, and I'm sure once you use it, you will like it too!

If you want to know if anyone has posted a new answer to a topic, you can tell two ways. Whenever someone makes a new post, that topic moves to the top. It also indicates the name of the person who posted last. So, if you are following a thread, that's a good way to tell. There might be a better way, but that's what I do.

Hi everyone,
I hear you and I understand - unfortunately, there are just some things I can not control. I am not a computer programmer, I can only use the tools that are available to me, with some tweaking. The old system just didn't cut it anymore - it was unsupported, unstable, hard to moderate and not secure. We had to migrate, and this was the best solution out there. I wish it could do a couple of things different/better - but it does do a lot, and if you give it some time, it does become quote manageable. As far as some old posters not being here - that has always happened through the life of our websites and forums. People come and go - you can't do much about that. I know maybe a few that have stopped coming because of the change - I regret that, but there isn't much more I can do about it. Sorry that the forum can not be everything to all, but we do try to make it as useful as possible with what we have available.

Hey Anthony! I've liked this new forum since day 1. And now that I've got a new computer (as of Saturday!) the nav bar is even working perfectly for me!

Sure it takes a little getting used to, but there are so many more features in this format that it makes it more fun. People's personalities come out with the use of avatars, fonts, colors and emoticons.

Thanks for trying to please everybody...it's not easy

There are pluses and minuses to the new forum, but overall there are more pluses then minuses in our opinion. The private messaging option is nice, as well as being able to see to whole string of responses by scroll down as opposed to having to open each one. It is much easier to put in pictures and web links then the old forum, where you had to know some html programming. The one biggest negative is what other posters mentioned, not seeing who replied unless you open the whole string. Also, the old forum allowed for branches of discussion off of the main topic, this new forum does not. The branches allowed for more fun type of replies that this forum style is less conducive for that. The constant having to log in is a pain as well.

You may not recognize old forum contributors since some may have changed their "handle" in the new forum.

You might have a corrupt "cookies" file - you should stay logged in until you log out. You may want to delete your cookie file (if you are comfortable doing that - you will probably have to log in again to any site you use with a password, etc.).

Anthony, I'm not a computer guru like you but for some reason I cannot stay logged in. On other forums and sites this isn't a problem.

And the funny thing is that when I do a straight log in to the site, I have to do it twice. When I log in through "messages" only one time.

Not complaining and really not that big of a deal, but thought I'd mention it.

If I remember correctly, JSS3 hadn't been on the old forum as much as he used to be even before the switch was made.

The "switch" is what actually brought me back :D

We have the same issue of having to log in twice to actually get logged in.
