Does anyone remember?????
A while back there was a thread about head coverings and someone posted about a had wrap that could be worn as a bandana or head band or many other things. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Marybeth, I think you are thinking of the thread "bald and burned in St. John." Thanks to that thread, I found out about dee-rags.
http://www.dee-rags.com
I loved them! My Dad is bald and had 47 basil cell sarcomas taken off his head in one year. He also another medical condition where it is best that his head is not exposed. I bought myself one because I cannot stand to have my hair floating around when I am snorkeling.
I loved them! They kept my hair out of my face and kept my scalp from burning. John was amazed (and amused) that I wore this getup in public, especially at Caneel. Here were all these people in splendorific bikinis and I was snorkeling along in my dee rag, one of John's shirts (he is a foot taller than me), and a pair of surfer shorts...I told him it was my all-natural wrinkle-prevention system!

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
MaryBeth,
Did you change your screen name?
Ruth bumped up that thread. But just in case you don't see it, the website is:
http://www.buffusa.com/
I have 4 of them now. They make some with UV protection and Coolmax.
This is a green Buff my friend ordered from Sahalie.
I reluctantly gave it back to her. It appears we had started our "posing" pictures.

The Buff is pulled over my hair in this pic. There are some tricks to wear it differently but I haven't learned them yet.

D*amn it! You guys are killin me. Last week, went out and bought the magic bullet blender and now I have to buy some buffs. My hair is fine but lots of it and it is constantly in my face even when it's put back. Now- no more new products k? I still must buy the neat sheet and the halloween get up
BTW- love that magic bullet. The blender is retired until it proves itself useful again.

When will I see St John again?
"do rags"
don't know bout no web sites nor what you yankee's call them. but here in ga they're "dorags". you don't dare plow your field in the summer without one. they even had them in gift shop at clubmed turkquoise.
lot cooler than a cap or straw hat. with a bald head like mine, when your start getting a little hot, wet your dorag and put that sucker back on and you'll think temp has fallen 20 degrees.
papabou (old and bald)
