Mosquito update?

Post by Barb Y »

Hi! How have the mosquitos been lately? Any improvement since the wild swarms hit and snacked on the visitors from the forum?

I was there last week, and they were not too bad.

I just got back and I have to say they weren't bad for me until we went to Maho our second to the last day. It was morning and cloudy and I got eaten alive until I went in the water. My kids got more bites, but nothing unusual. I never wore bug spray.

We just got back, too. We took two cans of bug spray and never even used them. We had lunch at Caneel one day, and there were small bugs bothering us, but nothing biting. On a couple of mornings, we heard mosquitos buzzing around our heads in our villa, but again, nothing biting.

In other words, bugs were a non-issue for us.

Good luck!

Mosquitos were BAD last Saturday and Sunday, but we were able to sit outside in the evenings if we used OFF and lit citronella (?) candles. Not sure why, but they weren't an issue at all the rest of the week (just got back this evening).
