MB - I found Ting here in NJ in New Brunswick. There is a Caribbean restaurant outside of the city, on border with Franklin, they have a small grocery store attached to a Caribbean style restaurant. You may find similar in Freehold or Red Bank if there is any West Indian presence there (i.e. restaurant or bodega).

As I've noted here several times, Ting makes a killer rum punch when mixed equal parts with Cruzan citrus flavor rum and cranberry juice, squeeze lime slice in, fresh nutmeg sprinkled on top.

We saw cases of Ting at Starfish this trip. I'm not much of a soda drinker, so we did not buy any. John drank the bottle at Gallows and said it was tasty.

jmq, I keep looking but so far nothing. we have a big spanish/mexican presence here in Freehold but I will have to look around in some other towns. thanks!

Ting is widely available in some parts of the Caribbean. We've spent many weeks on St. Martin, and it's all over the place there. Ting and vodka is good - but Ting is perfect all by itself.

Can you buy it as restaurants on STJ? How about STT?

Mary beth...if you get down this way there is a Jamaican store on Rt 9 in Pleasantville that carries it! I sent my husband on a mission once to find it and thats where he ended up. He said the people in the store were impressed that he was buying it for me to pair up w/ my rum. He keeps saying he wants to go back in there to check out other interesting items they had! We like to recreate autentic recipies and knowing where to get the ingredients is key!....maybe you have a Jamaican store up closer to you.

mbw, Wegman's here in Ocean has it. Not too bad a drive but maybe the Manalapan store is closer and has it also. It's not in the "Caribbean seaction" but with the other waters and drinks - not sodas.

I do get down there to Gourmet Garage and some times to get my hair cut with my "old girl". (lived in Ocean City and Northfield for 10 years). Can you tell me more about the place? name or location? thanks!

Good news and bad news for you Marybeth..

.Gourmet Garage/China Outlet is GONE!!!! Apparently the owner was tired of running the business and closed it a couple years ago ! Nothing else quite like it in the area!

Good news...is the store I was telling you about is called George's Jamaican deli/Grocery. It is on Rt 9 north of the Black Horse PK, also past Washington Ave...on the left heading north. Not hard to find.

What a great way (for me) to start the morning.

What was up with the lady on the plane!?! In Feb 2005 we witnessed a flight crew confrontation with a mother trying to use a rickety old baby carrier as a booster seat, in the middle seat, that resulted in a lengthly incident that ended up involving the pilot.

With all the shuffling, I am surprised your luggage made it with you.
