Longing to be on St. John.....
Longing to be on St. John.....
Isn't that someone's signature line around here??? Boy, if that isn't appropriate right now! I just went to our wine fridge to make a selection and had to pick the Chard that I first had at La Tapa last October.
Life is seriously kicking my butt right now and 162 days seems like a life time away! Thankfully I'm off to another place that feels like home - Maine - for an extended weekend!
Still need to get through tomorrow which is what lead me to the wine fridge
So here I sit with my "STJ wine" and some fine Italian cheese, trying to catch up on the board and anxiously awaiting Liamsaunt's first trip installment which I "heard" may be coming tonight! Gotta keep living through other's trips until my own comes
I realize now there's really no point to this post, I'm just rambling (and I just barely sipped the wine!). So I guess I better include a photo to make reading this worth while
Soon come???? Come Soon!!!!!!!!!!

Hang in there! Just think...only 62 days until you'll be in double digits!! It will be here before you know it. We've only been home for 4 days, and I emailed Rob at work today asking "when will we have a countdown again??!!"
Enjoy your long weekend to Maine! That is one of the places Rob and I are definitely looking at traveling to one of these days...we've never done the Eastern Coastal States and we're looking forward to it. Maybe in August when we really will need to escape the Texas Heat!

Hey Mary Beth! I feel your pain! I was lucky enough to be able to escape to St. John when life was kicking me in the butt, and it was heavenly! I wish you could go tomorrow! Hell, I wish I could go tomorrow! But it sounds like you have the right idea with some wine and cheese (or is that "whine" and cheese? - ha ha!). Add some steel drum music to that whine and you'll be magically whisked away to the island - in your mind, that is!
P.S. Just so you know I'm not dissing you, my girlfriend and I get together every so often after work for dinner and a movie - just "us girls." We call it a "whine & dine"

Silverheels, will be heading up I-84 Friday morning. Hope to bug out of Freehold by 5am the latest!
CA - speaking of wine .. not whine.. did I ever tell you that EVERY time I ordered a bottle of wine on STJ they were out of my selection???? It got to be funny! I started giving our server my 2nd and 3rd choice when ordered! If we got to #3 and they didn't have it, I quit!

I can tell by the location of the customs house on the hill. We are just beyond that. After being in the area for many years and knowing all the boats moored there it is not hard. Oh how I wish I was there now! Decided to have Chardonay tonight to go along with the original post by Mary Beth. Thanks for the idea!

We thought that we had sold the boat too! At the last minute the intended buyer had second thoughts.
Bill: It's Coral Bay.
My husband is headed down soon to prepare for hurricane season. I'm not going but if the boat is not sold by Thanksgiving we might go down for the race. I'm thinking that Flip-Flop may be down then.
After all these years of spending the summer down there it really is a let down to not be there at this time. Going to miss the get together of the ex-Aoler's who meet every summer. Hope that Xislandgirl is still thinking about an East Coast gathering. Hope I'm not "whining" too much.
