Great pictures, Dave! I like the ones of the VIERS camp. Where is that? And your animal pictures are wonderful! Yep, those are wild donkeys. I'm sure the cows, goats & pigs must belong to someone, but they just seem to get to roam free. Anyone else know the ownership status of the farm animals on St. John?

Nice photos.
The one photo when you are driving up that steep paved road to your villa IS actually Bordeaux Mountain Road (Route 108). Many of the locals don't refer to it that way though. If you continued up that road it would go to a rutted dirt road, then paved switchback, then really steep rutted dirt section to the top of Bordeaux Mountain. From there you could drive to Chateaux Bordeaux Rest. and view fairly easily.

I love nature and taking nature pictures. I also like taking "out of the ordinary" pics because it helps me remember the little details. I am looking forward to getting a glass of wine and looking at everyone elses pictures one of these nights.

To mbw1024:
We tried to watch the bartender make a BBC, and we copied it at home, and it was very close, but something was off. The bar we were at was a round open bar right near the road in the area where the Aqua Bistro is, I don't remember the name of the place.
What we saw, and what we used at home from was:
-Finest Call Banana
-Baileys
-crushed ice
I think the bartender used some sort of coconut in it, but my wife swears it didn't. Anyway, I looked at the recipe you showed me and I am going to try it out. Does anyone have any thing to add about BBC's?

Ha-ha-ha, those signs were pretty funny, that's for sure. We GIGGLED everytime we drove by them, and that was about 2-3 times a day for 2 weeks! I wish I had a picture of the 4th one which my wife claims she saw, I was looking everywhere for it as we drove around. Oh well, has anyone seen it?

To California Girl:
VIERS is directly above (north) of Great Lameshur Bay. The 107 turns into a dirt road after Saltpond bay, and goes (and ends) at several trail heads (Yawzi being one of them), the dirt road splits down there and goes to the VEIRS camp.

It was neat there, they're always looking for voluteers, and I was told that they will house you for your volunteer time.

I also liked the fact that the "farm" animals were wandering around, even though it's dangerous (for the animals and drivers), it added a feeling of the island being laid back and "rough". The fact that St. John is 2/3rds a national park was also a HUGE reason we went.

Yep, your right about 108, I looked it up on my NPS map after you mentioned it... yeah we tried driving that sucker and it was DANGEROUS in some spots. The couple who I learned about St. John from told me to drive up this for the view, but I think he started from Chateaux Bordeaux resturaunt (which I think is closed now I heard). So I don't know what that section was like. I'll tell ya, there was no way in hell I was going to drive it after a we ran into a STEEP-rutted switchback about half way up (starting at coral bay), when I found a spot where I had enough room to turn around, I did! I was forseeing our red rented suzuki jeep rolling down Bordeaux

(Just call me chicken) It was very dry when we were there, so we didn't have any mud problems. I haven't had a chance to look at a lot of everyone elses photo's yet, but does anyone have a picture of this view? I would love to see it since I missed it

I love how you've grouped the photos. Liked seeing the bush cat station too. I've visited the shelter and heard all about the stations, but never saw one before. Saw the fighting lizards one day too...tryed to catch a photo but they kept jumping off the tree whenever I got a good zoom on them.

And now I'll have to do the Yawzi Point trail now that I see it. It's always been so darn hot every time, we don't make it off the Lamshur beach to do it.
