'Sport Fishing in July??
Well the #1 son (32yrs) is thinking he would like to go sport fishing....catch and release only. Can anyone tell me what might be running and if the 7-14 of July is a good time to go out. His last fishing trip in Hawaii was 5 hours without a nibble and very expensive so we're wondering if it would be worthwhile to go out this time of year. Any suggestion on a boat? Thanks, by the way, for the information on day boats to the BVI's I'm going to contact Lionindasun this morning - they seem great. And...of course thank you to Pia for all the info. on turtles....I look forward to seeing you on the beach Pia.

I lkie Double header It depends whagt he wants to fish for that is Marlin time but I don't care to troll all day and not catch anything I'd rather live bait fish and be busy last time went we caught about 30 fish a mixed bag in a 4 hour trip. We also brought some fillet back to the villa they were great.

Just a thought but you should make certain to mention to the Boat crew that you wish to catch and release only. Some and likely most of these guys count on the fish, Tuna Mahi or whatever as part of thier income and meals. Same holds true if you should want to keep all the fish you boat. They will always give you filets if you ask but make the deal up front to avoid any misunderstandings. Learned this the hard way once when we planing a fish feast but the Capt. wanted most of the Tuna. It brings a good price at the restaurants / markets I guess.

Thanks Bob for the info. We just all believe in catch and release because we hate to waste a life...however if these guys depend on the catch for their livelyhood we certainly understand. I'll have my son discuss all this before the boat leaves the dock 
I have heard that the people at "Gone Ketchin" are very nice (Grizz) but will take all recommendations anyone may have.
