Ocean Grille, Mongoose Junction

Post by GlitterGirlPA »

Hey All - Just got back from 9 days in paradise! So depressed right now! Just wanted to let you know that the Ocean Grille was one of our favorite places to eat! 10 of us stayed at the Villa Panache, one honeymooning couple, one couple on an anniversary, and one newly engaged couple ( at Trunk Bay the first day! ) We told our waitress, Tara, about this and they gave each couple a free dessert! So nice - and everything was delicious! We had delicious food all week, but this one was really special!

We also saw a HUGE Barracuda and Shark just swimming in very shallow water at Cinnamon, a HUGE sting ray swimming in knee deep water at Trunk, and 3 sea turtles at Maho - what a vacation! That place is just breath-taking! I miss it already!

Thanks Glitter Girl. I hope Ocean Grill does well---its a pretty place---not very crowded when we there in February.

How did you like Villa Panache? We stayed there two years ago and really enjoyed it---anxious to hear your report.

I think we'll check out Ocean Grill when we're on STJ next week. I was sold when I saw that they have a coupon for a free drink :)

We all loved the Villa Panache! The heated pool was great ( even though it was sooo hot there last week ). They added an extra apartment under the pool complete with master bed and bath, sitting room, and kitchen. The views were beautiful and the kitchen was very up to date. It was very spacious, and never felt like there was 10 people living in the one house. I would definitely go back! Wish I was there right now!!

GlitterGirlPA - It's great to hear you enjoyed Ocean Grill. It was under construction when we were there last year. We'll definitely plan on trying it when we return in June. And thanks to Teresa_Rae for posting the link to the coupon!

We had a great lunch at the Ocean Grill in February. I hesitate to talk a restaurant up too much because the next experience could fail, for any number of reasons, to live up to the expectations but it was one of those dining experience where everything was right – food quality, presentation, service, setting, etc.

I remember the rum punches being very good also!

Is Ocean grill the type of restaurant you need reservations for?

We made reservations because there was 10 of us. All week last week we made them, but every restaraunt was pretty empty the whole time. We ate at the Fish Trap, Banana Deck, Rhumblines, Margarita Phils, Ocean Grille. For Lunch we went to Baked in the Sun and Deli Grotto for some delicious sandwiches for the beach! Yum!

We ate there during our trip a couple of weeks ago. It was a Monday night and there were only a few tables occupied. But I had been told at Skinny's that they were experiencing tons of people on one day and hardly any the next. Perhaps it's the time of year?
