Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

Post by Jan&MikeVa »

Just a note to wish everyone a GREAT weekend!! Be safe and be happy.

To add to my families excitement this weekend, my nephew (different sister than the one going w/us to STJ) has arrived in Europe and will be home tomorrow morning to Fort Drum, NY. He has been in Afghanistan for 18 months. My family all feel very blessed that he is coming home, and he is so proud of his work in the Army. 8)

My family and I did Bike the Drive in Chicago this morning (biking on Lake Shore Drive - fantastic) and afterwards we visited the temporary memorial exhibit in Grant Park. This exhibit has a pair of boots symbolizing each US military person killed in Iraq. (Currently 3445 pairs.) It is very moving.

Here's a heartfelt "thank you" to all those serving their country, and a wish for all you with loved ones far away that you will see them home safely, soon.

Happy Memorial Day -- go give someone you love a hug!
