diving in STJ

Post by msfcambridge »

We have just returned from Grand Cayman and experienced our first dive. It was an amazing experience but we're not sure if it's necessary in STJ. Are there any recommendations for STJ diving or should we stick to our snorkeling? Ty!

That's a difficult question for anyone, except the two of you, to answer. I don't know what you saw that you liked. What are you hoping to accomplish when you dive? Although I've not dived at Grand Cayman, I suppose the experience will be somewhat different in the VI.

Are you certified of did you do the Discover Scuba program there? That will have something to do with the choices.

The direct answer to your question is, no diving is not required to have a great time while in STJ. Thousand or even millions go to STJ every year and have a wonderful time without diving.

No matter what you chose, you'll have a great time while there.

If it was a Discover Scuba dive then pass in St John. Cayman is one of the best dive spots in this part of the world. You won't have the near the water clarity in the USVIs. I know, I am an instructor and have worked in both places.

we are not certified. we went to Grand Cayman and did a first time/beginner's dive. It was "okay" but maybe it was because it was 35 is feet. I've seen better underwater beauty in STJ. Thanks for all the info!
