Flats fishing
Flats fishing
I'd like to do some shallow water fishing, definitely not deep sea fishing. I want to be able to cast and retrieve, preferably spin casting. I don't really care what we catch and I don't care about keeping anything.
Awawak seems okay, but quite a production and preferring fly fishing. I'd like something more casual.
Any local fisherman who can provide what I'm looking for, please PM me. I'll be on island next month.

You could try the bay opposite Annaberg I think it's called Mary's Creek. Flyfishing friendly with reef fish etc. Wadeable. Good luck
Re: Flats fishing
Yes, I've done that and it is very good. There is an oyster bar that is 45 degrees to the road toward Francis. It is good for about 50 yards before it gets too deep.
But just seeing finning bonefish there is exhilarating.
I'd like to fish there again, but this time from a boat.

Re: Flats fishing
Be cautious. Reef fish in this area are know to carry a high risk of ciguatera poisoning. I only eat fish from around here that is caught in deep water.
