Where to meet at STT

Post by Ksea »

My party is arriving a little over an hour before my sister's party from GA. Where should we meet? An airport area BAR or a BAR near the Red Hook? Which BAR (14 yr old with us). We want to take the Ferry over to STJ together. Thanks!

pretty hard to miss each other in that airport! There's a bar by baggage claim. Have a few while you are waiting :)

I was hoping for a more interesting place. But Ive never been to STT airport so maybe the bar at baggage claim has a great view and plenty of room to sit and relax?

well it's rather small from what I recall but for an hour's wait I would stay put. But that's just me. Unless you are planning to stay at this location a while before you get on the ferry?

If you take the CA ferry you can meet them at the bar at Drake's passage - see The Shopper 3's trip report.
Come see us!

MB, no I guess we wont be staying there long...couple of hours until Sis arrives and gets her bags and a drink. Villa rental guy told us to take the Red Hook Ferry.

One person in our group flew in separately and had to wait for us to arrive. She sat in the bar by baggage claim and read her book. She said between that and people watching it went fast enough and she had more than two hours to kill!

Red Hook Places

If you want to go to Red Hook and wait for them there, then I would suggest Molly Malones if you want to eat and drink. The Island Times Bar ( formerly Shopchoppys (sp?), if you just want drinks and a nice view. Island times has great pizza if that is of interest.

Im sure we'll be starving. We head for the airport at 4am and arrive in STT at 2pm. If baggage claim doesnt have food we will head to red hook and the Island Time Bar...unless of course someone suggests something fabulous :D

I would keep this as simple as possible. Meet at the snack bar next to baggage claim or on St. John.

I agree with Rick keep this simple so noone goes to the wrong spot or worries if someone's flight is early or late. Here is what I would do - after arrival - get my free rum punch, relax, gather luggage, head to ferry - either CA or Red Hook - arrive St John, turn right and head to Beach Bar for a few drinks and appetizers/food and wait for other group to arrive. My experience is that you can hang out literally for hours at the Beach Bar. One of my favorite hangouts on St John. You won't have anything to worry - noone will get lost - you will get fed - there will be plenty of beverages available - and you will be on Island Time all the sooner!
