Trip Report Part Deaux
Day 2 St. John, USVI
Woke up way early by rolling over in my sleep & by mistake or blessing got a tiny peak of a beautiful sunrise from the windows in our bedroom (I posted this pics in 1st report/slideshow). Jumped up like a mad woman (my hubby would say)grabbing my camera, threw open the doors & just started firing the camera (I apologize for so many pics of the sunrise posted earlier, just never experienced anything like it).
Sat on deck listening & watching Cinnamon Bay wake up for about an hour. Still tired from arriving the following afternoon, Jeff & I began to plot out our day. We decided on Trunk Bay, how could we go wrong? Loaded up the ice chest & grabbed the villa beach chairs & packed up the Jeep.
Arrived at Trunk early so the park ranger at the booth let us in for free. We found a spot to the right of the main lifeguard stand and relaxed for a good 20 minutes before it began to drizzle. Packed back up & took shelter underneath the pavillion. It rained for about 20 minutes & then went back out to snorkel. We made it just in time before the cruisers arrived. It always amazes me to see cruisers arrive to their destination like cattle. Anyways, saw some great fish & coral & laid back on the beach cracking up at all the cruisers snorkeling. I love watching people walk in the water with their flippers on.
Lunch came way too soon, so we just grabbed a burger & a salad at the snack shack at Trunk. Sat at the picnic table under the trees & boy were the mosquitos ruthless!
We quickly devoured our food & jumped in the Jeep & decided to explore the island. Found our way towards Coral Bay & stopped at some places for pictures. The rest of the day was pretty overcast, so I apologize for the lack of & quality of pics in this slideshow.
After our 1 hr drive we went to Hawksnest where we snorkled and fell asleep. Come 4:00 pm the mosquitos were out again so we packed up & went back to the villa. Later that night, we were so tired we just went ate at the Caneel Bay Beach Bar because we didn't feel like fighting for a parking spot in Cruz Bay. The food was good & brought back memories for us b/c that's where we honeymooned. I had a huge plate of Shrimp Nachos topped with everything & Jeff had a Cobb Salad with Shrimp. Sorry no food porn.
