Place to pass some time?

Post by sailorgirl »

Any suggestions for a place near St. Thomas airport to pass 1-2 hours waiting for other arrivals?

The Best Western carib is across the street I think, but do they have a bar?

The Island Beachcomber (practically in the airport parking lot) has a nice little bar on the beach. Not a bad spot to sit and wait.

We rarely wait at the aipport for folks, we try to meet them at the CA ferry or we go on ahead to STJ and meet them at the Cruz bay ferry dock. We also give VERY good instructions about where to meet up and how to get there.

We had to wait for luggage our last trip; and just chilled at the bar at baggage claim. Carib's were cold and tasty :)

Ya, we hit that with Canadian Ruth's (theshopper3) team and hung out until 5 minutes before ferry departure. There's plenty of shade and toilets nearby.

I had this same dilemma recently and after much research, decided to walk over to the Best Western Carib. But when we arrived at the airport, we found the little bar/snack bar in the baggage claim area and you know? It's not such a bad place to hang out for 2 hrs. And we were RIGHT THERE when our friend's plane came in 2 hrs. later. It was super easy. From there we got a taxi to The Greenhouse in CA to wait for the ferry with a cold drink in our hands :)

Thanks for the input, we are renting the car on St. Thomas, so it looks like the airport or one of near by hotels.
