Denis Bay

Post by lbrlwyr »

Anyone know the best way to get down to Denis Bay? It has been on my "to do" list for some time and I am definitely going to make an effort to go there this year.

I thought I read that it is less than down 1/4 mile hiking trail just west of Jumbie but I wasnt sure if there are any good landmarks to look for and whether there is anywhere to park.

Eric,

You can park in the small lot at the base of the trail that leads to Peace Hill. Head up the trail toward the ruins, and part way up you'll see a side trail that drops off to your right (I don't believe it's marked). That side trail will lead you down to the far end of Denis.

Actually, we first came across Denis by way of water...snorkeling to the left and around the point from Jumbie.

Enjoy!

Dave.

Thanks for the info! How far is it from the main trail up Peace Hill?

Anyone know if it can be reached via dinghy? I thought I remember reading somewhere that you can't access Denis by boat b/c of the abundance of reef in the shallow water near the beach.

Check out the trail bandit's maps:

Noah's does not want you to take their dinghy's to Denis due to the reef.

We are renting a larger boat through calypso but since you have to anchor/moor the boat I gather we may have the same problem.

The Denis Bay trail is shaded most, if not all the way down.I tried this trail last June and enjoyed walking it.Nice views and a sandy beach await you at the end of the trail :D Parafins
