What you do is "borrow" an unsuspected towel off a lounge chair, take your child all wrapped up in the towel to the stand that's giving out the fresh towels and ask for an extra one because she's cold. Wrap that one around her, walk away, and return the borrowed towel to the chair. Have 2 or 3 of your friends do that and bam, you have a collection. Nobody can say no to a shivering kid! Yes, kids can be used for more than tax deductions! 8)

As a timeshare owner at the Westin, one who pays an annual maintenance fee, and when the few times want to relax at the Westin pool but no lounge chairs are available or no clean towels are ready - makes me wonder? Can I just drop by a villa, when nobody is home, and make use of the villa pool?

You said what I was thinking in Post #2. If you want to stay at the Westin, great. But don't crash the pool. Having dinner or drinks is fine but the rooms there are just as expensive as a villa & imagine if Westin guests started crashing villas!

I have never been to the Westin, we have only rented villas. Not a Westin apologist in the least.

The sad irony is a villa is private property whereas the Westin is a basically open area and we uninvited guests enjoyed the thrill of mooching off the wonderful chlorinated water that you guys enjoy

What is an 'Uninvited Guest'? Doesn't sounds like something I would want to labeled as, or to label one as... Do you also take silverware from restaurants?

All being lighthearted here, but to take space (lounge chairs) from the ppl who pay for the privilege, is not cool... At least buy lunch there, eat at the bar stools and don't be a freeloader.. Jeez, I paid lot$ for my timeshare

Sorry but a few of you are misunderstanding. If it is an issue with which anyone has an issue, go back and carefully read the full description of our crime. We never took anyone's fresh towel off a chair they were saving. We picked up a few abandon towels back to our place and laundered them. The only time we visit is late in the afternoon when the pool has emptied out as people leave to get ready for dinner. There is never a crowd and at least 100 available chairs. As I've said on previous trip reports we more than pay our way by ordering apps and drinks and tipping well. Then we leave the towels behind. The only reason we took them home with us last year because we were not able to make it the last day. I did like seeing them in my closet though. Really- no harm no foul. Peace.
