With a US state Dept certification of birth without a raised seal? This is a copy as the original is with our passport application which is somewhere in New Hampshire being processed.
Our family of five filed for passports on March 20. Three of us have made it into the tracking system. Our congressman's office has now asked the state dept. to expedite our request.
We leave June 1 and are starting to get nervous. The rest of us can order birth certificates (originals are with the passport applications) from the local county health agency, but what about the spouse?

Getting in and out of the USVIs is just like flying in and out of Newark for US citizens. Adults need drivers license and kids do not need id. But, the immigration folks are still asking for birth certificates on the way out. The answer "I don't have one" has not caused a delay for any of our folks.
I would also push the constituent services folks of your Representative and Senator before the Memorial Day recess. That is all that has worked for the people I know. They are getting a lot of these requests and know how to work the system.
Cheers, RickG

What's the worse that could happen? Your wife would have to stay in the USVI until her passport arrives.
Only kidding, you should be able to get to St. Thomas with a driver's license, as it is a territory of the U.S. You should be able to get back to the mainland with the same documentation.
If you were to travel to the BVI's, then you will have trouble.
I have heard more horror stries about people getting (or not getting) their passports in a timely manner since they changed the rules. Apparently they changed everything except the way they process and handle the requests! Typical government red tape BS.
Hope you can get the passports before you have to leave.
