Great Escape Catherineberg Reviews

Post by bodeman »

Hi Everyone,

Im looking to stay at the Great Escape in the Catherineberg and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this villa and possibly any pictures. I have been to St John multiple times and am very familiar with the area but was looking for some feedback on this villa. I haven't been able to find much about this villa online and the advertised information and pictures are fairly limited.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Got lost trying to find Mango bay villa when we stumbled across. Great Escape. Renters invited us in. Sleek, eclectic upscale furnishings, central air, dynamic views. Bedrooms are not equal. Short bumpy ride from the Sugar Mill in Catherineberg. Nice summer rental as it one of the few up there with central A/C. Used to be called Highpoint back in the day( am I dating myself?)

I stayed there about 5 years ago. You can find some pictures taken from the villa here:

I don't think I took any pictures of the interior. What would you like to know? It's been a while, but I can try to remember if you want to know something specific.

Here are a couple of pictures of the pool and the view from the living area:

Thanks so much for the pictures Ken, they are fantastic. I am most interested in the outdoor space. We typically spend our entire time outdoors and just wanted to make sure there was a decent amount of space for sun around the pool deck as well as shaded area under the covered deck. We also like to eat dinners out doors at the villa. Is there and outdoor dining space? Any general impressions you had on your stay would be appreciated as well. We will be traveling with twin babies this year and will be spending more time at the villa than usual so just want to make sure we have an enjoyable outdoor space.

Thanks,

We stayed at Great Escape a couple years ago. Great view, location, ac, all the things you want. It does have ample deck space around the pool. My only complaint was the roof leaked . We had 3 days of heavy rain showers and the kitchen flooded. Hopefully this has been fixed. I'll be glad to answer any other questions.

There was, as I remember, quite a bit of space around the pool. The pool was downstairs from the living area, and there is definitely space outside the living area (same level as the kitchen) to eat. We were there with 8 people, and I know we ate outside every night. Assume that none of this has changed in the past 5 years. We didn't experience the roof leak, but we were there in July and I don't remember lots of rain.
