the off-topic forum had/has a great cocktail thread with lots of recipes and great photos. And those of you who visit the off-topic forum know I’m great for starting new “game” threads so let’s start one here

what’s your favorite villa drinks with recipes additionally do you bring your drink mixes from home or buy from starfish market?

Pineapple and Coconut Mojitos! Cruzan Pineapple and Cruzan Coconut rum, mint, squeeze of fresh lime, and club soda. I also love to muddle fresh pineapple with my mint!

We came up with our favorite concoction after getting a free sample of guava rum at the airport a few years ago...before then we'd had several flavors of Cruzan but not guava...now we don't buy anything but guava!

Created this on the deck of Astral Villa: Cruzan Vanilla Rum and root beer. We named it "The Panty Dropper"

We also like the fruit flavored Cruzan with orange juice or orange soda.

Effie, yours sounds good! We keep it simple: equal parts coconut rum, mango rum, and V8 Splash. We just picked everything up on island and we go way too much rum!!

Got the idea for this post when I was the supermarket getting some Superbowl drinks and went by the drink mix section. Effie my wife loves your pineapple coconut Mojitos. Trauma Queen your recipe is up there with mine amaretto and cream soda

Wine or beer is usually the go-to drink for my crowd. But the group's favorite cocktail is a jalarita: tequila infused with cilantro and jalepeno, mixed with fresh lime juice, muddled cucumber, and sparkling water, served over ice with a chili-sugar rim. None of us like really sweet drinks, and this one is zesty and spicy.

We had this served to us at the old Panini Beach restaurant. They called it a Caribbean Martini:
1 part Cruzan Coconut rum
1 part Cruzan Pineapple rum
1 part Cruzan Banana rum
Ice, blend and serve with wedge of lime.

or

To keep it simple and add some control to your alcohol/hydration equation:
Coconut Cruzan rum
Seltzer
Vary quantities as necessary with ice and garnish with a wedge of lime. Sip all day.

OMG Becky, that sounds delish! I hope no one thinks less of me for this but I can't stop watching Vanderpump Rules- don't judge me!! They have a jalapeno margarita on the menu that had me curious to try. I am going to try your recipe this week-end- the cucumber addition sounds magical!!

Tequila infused with jalapeno and cilantro- had me thinking that would make a the basis for a great chicken marinade- maybe with a little Cruz Bay Grill rub. Hmmm...

Do you infuse it yourself or can you buy it that way?

This one's a no brainer!!!
Painkiller's! ( I think we all know what's in those...) On my Sweet Amy's first trip down, we decided to make Painkiller's with Cruzan 151. After her 4th, she literally OOZED off of the bar stool on Plumeria's deck. I helped her up, and to the bathroom so she could "get rid of it...",and held her hair out of the way while she apologized profusely. When she was through, she said, quite simply & without missing a blink, "I'm sorry honey, I can't have another one..." Then quickly,-"let's do margarita's..." Maybe tmi, but I thought it was hysterical. Knew I had a gamer!
Or ice cold beer...
Or Cruzan Dk & Coke...
Then again, bloody Mary's are always nice in the morning...or a screwdriver...
Or Cruzan Black Cherry and Lemonade...
Made daquiri's with dk & pineapple Cruzan, strawberry puree, ice, splash of oj;- blend! Splendid!
Or Corona-rita's...
Sorry, I'm all over the place. With so many wonderful memories, it leaves one with
so many choices! Maybe a harder question than I thought...

It seems like forever since we've been there. At this point I'd be happy sipping on a warm can of Budweiser mixed with sea water to see Amy's beautiful smile next to me down there...

Lime n da coconut

The only drink I make an effort to do at home during the summer, since we normally drink wine,

Coconut rum
Lime juice
Coco Lopez (I tend to be heavy handed with this)
Slice of lime if you'd like
Ice

Blend it all until creamy in the blender, ahhhhhh!

I admit to drinking these by the pool at the villa starting about 9am

(It's 5oclock somewhere philosophy)
