how to get from STT to SJU?

hey folks, our best friends just spent their first week in STJ and then 3 days in STT, were to fly back to Boston today on JetBlue but flights are all canceled. There are no seats available to get a family of 4 to SJU where they could get a flight home tomorrow.....next option is Monday....have checked all airlines plus Cape Air and Seaborne also trying to help them out, keep striking out.

It appears the ferry isn't operating from St. Thomas to PR at the moment also. Are there any other methods to get to PR, I'm thinking like charters or something, submarines, surf boards?

Of course I could think of a worse place to get stranded, like where I'm typing from at the moment!

Wow, today is Thursday and the next available option for 4 passengers is Mon?! Flights must be jam packed. Here are a couple of possible options to get from STT - SJU.

Air Sunshine - very small planes with scheduled service between STT and SJU - we've flown them from SJU to Virgin Gorda.

Island Birds - charter flights (probably pricey) - never flown them, but have seen others recommend them on a BVI forum

Charter Flights Caribbean, inc - not personally familiar with them

Dohm's water taxi - they have private water taxis, but not sure if they go all the way to SJU

Its too bad they can't just chill out and enjoy a couple more days, while this nasty winter storm goes through. I know some people have compelling reasons to get home, though.

thanks for the advice, I'll check these options out.....yep I know, just stay and enjoy, ehh?....but seems they'd like to come home, and the father wants to save some vacation and money to join us in PR in two weeks for our extended surf vacation. The problem is it's holiday time, and there aren't many seats left to begin with. A couple big jets cancel out, and all of a sudden everyone is scrambling for the left over seats....it sounds like they will have trouble with the car rental also....can't extend, no surprise there.

Is it possible for them to get to Tortola and then fly to SJU? It looks like Cape Air has flights available, but they are quite expensive.

don't know, but I suppose if they did that they should stop at white bay for a painkiller on the way, ehh?
