Island updates,Nov 18,19,20 and todays report RAIN
Yo Rockettes of the world. I bring you news and info. When your hero last checked in all was fine. We went to town Sunday afternoon late for happy hour and dinner. First time there this trip since we came via car barge. Rolled down the street at wharf side and saw some perky little parking $3 per hour signs and a perky little hut with parking attendant with clip board. Hey I didn't get the memo. Kind of a bummer not to be able to play parking space bingo anymore. I guess it is good that you know you can get a spot for the price of a beer for an hour....$10 bucks after 5 at Slims. Went up to Spyglass for hh drinks and apps. The fish tacos and wings were great. The angus sliders didn't impress my sweetie. Went down stairs to the Beach Bar and...WHERE IS EVERYBODY? Only person I recognized was Capt Dennis. Had drinks and saw Dingy Joe do a fly by. Different place now. Fast forward to Monday. Went to Francis and had a ho hum day there so we hoed and hummed. I stole that from Winnie the Pooh by the way. Good beach day. Water was still a little choppy. Tuesday was gonna be Vie's day. Got a late start. Someone forgot the underwater cameras so we had to turn around. My bad. Got to Vie's and the parking lot was full. So we turned around and went back to Haulover. Did the left side together. I swam across the cove to the right side and what a diference. Vis was a 8 out of 10 and warmer as well. Good fish again and one octopus but no shark. Hit Skinny's for lunch. Great fish sandwich and burger.
Went back to town to pick up The Omaha grandmother on the 4 o'clock ferry and as I was waiting I saw a familiar face walking towards me. Alice of Coral Bay Jewelers. Got a hug and kiss and plans for dinner with her husband Tom next week.
Wed we were back at Maho and scored the spot about in the middle of the beach area where all the taxis stop. I had noticed a building under construction at the end of the beach area as you turn right going towards Francis. They were working so I went over and asked what was happening. Was told it is a privately owned deal that is having renovations done. He thought it was going top be a commercial use place. Maybe someone else can shed some light on it. We to 362 for dinner. Had the fish, wife had the Osobuka sp, other granny had the pork. Mine was a 6 out of 10, Sandie my bride of 34 years gave her dinner an 8, Di her pork an 8 as well. Service had another rate. Our server, Michael needs some training. Had not CJ come to the rescue it could have been ugly. There were only two to three tables eating. He hovered over another table most of the time we were there. I almost had to pour my own wine, I have done it before. Not what I expect for the price. Bill for three was $160. No apps just dinner and a $42 bottle of wine. I'll watch for further updates before I go back.
Today was again going to be a Vie's day. Weather man had another idea. Even had lightning. Hey the cisterns get filled. More soon come...God bless Bill
