Happy Hour Specials

Post by ColumbiaSCTraveler »

Hey, y'all! We'll be back on St. John in 15 days (not that I'm counting). Wanted to know if there was a list of restaurants / bars that had happy hour specials (food + drinks or just drinks or just food - we're not picky  )? If not, can y'all help me create my list? Thanks, y'all! Happy weekend!

We used to like to go to happy hour at the Lime Inn, drinks are half price and they have some of my favorites on island. But we always like to stay at the beach late and we found ourselves leaving the beach early to go save a few bucks on drinks. Then I realized that since we were spending thousands of dollars on a vacation to that beach, why would we leave it early to save $10? So now we skip happy hour and spend more time at the beach :)
Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.

Nicer:

La Plancha
Fatty Crab

Basic:
JJ's

Not a happy hour deal but you can get Lunch at High Tide until 5, so if you are looking for a less expensive early dinner, that may work

Good thought Teresa Rae! But if you're in Cruz Bay around 3 p.m. check out JJ's for happy hour food and drinks or Woody's for happy hour drinks.
La Plancha Del Mar has a happy hour from 5-6 p.m. and I heard that Fatty Crab has a happy hour too!
Happy times are coming! And I'm right behind ya~ Hope to bump into you!
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

Personal favorite, three Dark & Stormys at the Quiet Mon and then walk the dogs at ACC. Those STJ dogs always take good care of us.

We like SpyGlass for happy hour food. Toni recommended them and we were there yesterday. Try the sweet chili habanero $1 wings :)

ColumibaSCTraveler,

We were through your town in July. My father-in-law lives in Little River, SC and we drove out with the kids for a visit. You guys had some "fun" construction work on the interstate at that time...

Here is another vote for Spyglass they have $1 wings and 2 Fish Tacos for $5. I have tried most of their different wing flavors and they have all been good. The Sweet Chili are my favorite. Additional, you can get a side order of home cut fries that are aswesome. They double fry them, so they are nice and crispy. That is what is for dinner at least one night (normally more) while on STJ. They also have drink specials.

We also hit the Tap Room for half price pizzas. The Fish Trap has a couple menu items each night on a happy hour special as well.

Our STJ day is hit the beach early, snorkle for 3 - 4 hours eat lunch, snorkle for 3 - 4 hours, return to villa, shower, eat dinner early, go to bed early and repeat each day... :D

It is hard to believe I am the only person to recommend my favorite happy hour at Joe's Rum Hut in Wharfside Village. 4-6 all drinks even top top shelf $3.00. Mike Garbo runs the kitchen and always has very inexpensive specials, peel and eat shrimp, excellent pizza etc. Garbo used to run the G-Spot which was a favorite cheap eat place. Mikes home made soups are excellent too. Plus you can not beat the view!!

Joe's Rum Hut puts out a board of special apps and meals each day. The food is delicious and cheap for St John's standards. Their regular menu is cheap for St John standards and you are ocean front! The drinks are what I find are inexpensive for me, to get a Grey Goose, Grand Marnier Cosmo for $3.00 is a deal! 4:00-6pm each day! Maybe if you don't drink top shelf liquor it is not a deal!
