Breakfast recommendations
Breakfast recommendations
We were just crushed to read that JJ's has closed. After many trips to STJ, we only tried it last year, and of course we loved it. This on top of finding out that our *other* fave breakfast place is also closed: Donkey Diner. So we need some help. Can everyone weigh in on their favorite breakfast places on STJ? Out of the two of us, one likes a very "traditional" breakfast, as in eggs, meat and non-super-seasoned potatoes. The other half is adventurous and will try anything. JJ's was just perfect for us, so anything along those lines would be great.
Ideas, folks?

I concur on Jake's. We had only one breakfast there, but it was great. Service was wonderful, food good, and we liked sitting up there people-watching ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

A couple of trips ago we ate breakfast at Cafe Livin and really enjoyed it - nice selection and I believe they have daily specials too!

Just had a great bkfst at Jake's and really enjoyed it. Also had fun hanging out with Jake and Abby - the owners two kids. I highly recommend this place! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Breakfast recommendations
HEY, HEY, HEY!!
We normally get the sunrise croissant (I think that's what it's called). Has bacon, eggs, cheese on a yummy croissant. They also have breakfast potatoes, which is the side we get with the croissant. I think it's more breakfast sandwiches....not something like pancakes, bacon, eggs. DG also has banana bread and stuff that you could eat for breakfast. Jake's is definitely more of a true breakfast-breakfast place. DG is more of a bfast sammy / grab it and go type breakfast. Does that make sense?

Got it. At this point we're looking for more of true breakfast place.

Re: Breakfast recommendations
Clicked on the link for Jake's in this thread, but unfortunately the breakfast menu does not work on their website. Can someone summarize what their breakfast options are? French Toast? Waffles? etc...
Re: Breakfast recommendations
Just ate breakfast at Jake's all last week. They have a "Regular" eggs, bacon/sausage, hash browns, toast, pancakes with all different fruit, french toast, omelets (with all kinds of the usual stuffings and some different ones too), corn beef hash and eggs, bloody mary's, mimosa. All very yummy and owners are wonderful. You can sit at tables or sit at window bar looking down the street and people watch. Love Jakes! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
