Talk to me about Sahara dust!
Talk to me about Sahara dust!
Heading down for a quick 5-day trip with our niece next Thursday -- I just saw this story about a massive Sahara dust storm, which is heading for the Caribbean right now.

I'm glad in some ways, because I've heard that it suppresses other kinds of weather events, but since I've never experienced Sahara dust before, I'm wondering how seriously it affects other aspects (like snorkeling, views, etc.).
I'd love some input....thanks!

The good news is that there are pretty nice sunsets when the Sahara Dust rolls into towns. The bad news is that you're not going to get those stellar daytime shots with the super blue skies.
Check out this post I wrote. It shows a webcam shot of a day with the dust and without. It gives you a good sense of what to expect.
