Southern Cross Villa

Post by stjchica »

Looking seriously at Southern Cross Villa for family trip, including 1 set of grandparents.
Anyone have personal knowledge...or see any cons on renting this villa? Looks pretty good from what I can tell and I think they drive isn't too bad to north shore beaches?? Any info/advice welcome~

We stayed at Southern Cross in November of 2010. Pros: Large great room, sound of waves crashing, good views out to sea, close to town and therefore, not far to north shore beaches. Also, DJ the manager was fantastic. There are two bedrooms off the great room and the other two are on the lower level and accessed by outside stairs.

Cons: the driveway is very difficult to back out of; the pool deck is a little small and doesn't get late afternoon sun (which is when we liked to use it - post beach). Also the view to the left is of the unfinished Pond Bay Club which I didn't find very attractive, so i just looked left :) The master bedroom is much nicer than the other three, if that is a concern and the great room can get a little warm in the afternoon.

All in all we enjoyed Southern Cross. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can help you with.
