How do you dry your beach stuff...?

Post by dreamshark »

If you can't do this?
Our clothesline in the sky
Our clothesline in the sky
We've usually stayed in villas with big breezy decks where we could dry out our suits, towels, snorkel shirts, beach coverups, etc. But what do people do who are staying in a B&B, hotel, or small condo? What if you have a balcony, but not much breeze? Does anything EVER dry?

I have left things in the jeep with the windows up and things pretty much bake dry.

certainly wash the salt out of your suits, snorkel shirts with fresh water -- leaving salt in the fabric wicks moisture out of the humid air and they will never feel dry otherwise.
wring them out as much as possible - hang them where they can get air and if possible morning sun.
Having at least 2 sets will help for sure and get the quick drying type fabrics if possible.

Well, yeah, of course. That's what we did. Worked great. But we had a 40-foot deck with retractable clotheslines and a 20-30 mph wind blowing. My question is - if you stay in something like the Boutique Hotel or a small condo, where do you hang things to dry?

Maybe take them to a laundramat and invest in a little dryer time, if there is not one available at the Hotel or condo.

We hang our wet things outside on the deck furniture to dry , but never on the deck railing. We think that looks tacky.

We hang ours in the shower, over the sink, on the toilet (closed of course). Never really had an issue with drying things since, as Exit said, we always have 2-3 suits and alternate days.

One year we were in the Bay Vista portion of the Westin and had two small balconies. We did have some sun, but no breeze to help with the drying process. I found that I layed items over the pation furniture and then had to turn them over (180 degress) and that way both sides seemed to dry.
