Which beach would you recommend for us today?

Post by betsyv »

Hi all,
We arrived on Wed. and did the reef bay hike on Thur...It was a good day for it as it rained on and off all day..Yesterday We snorkeled Maho..(nice), and Salt Pond..Didnt see much there..although we didn't stay long and only did the left side...
Would like to try another beach today...any suggestions?...

Got our wristbands and have been to the Beach Bar a couple of times.( Great band last night), but haven't seen any VIOL's..on the look out tho.

I don't know if I can tell you which beach to go to today. I need to show you. Since I am several thousand miles away, I guess I have to make a long distance suggestion.

How about Francis. You can go to the right and head toward Marys Point. You can also go to the left, cross over Little Maho and head to Maho. There is generally lots to see in either direction.

Send me a ticket and I'll take you somewhere intersting tomorrow.

I was going to suggest Francis also. Last time we went there we saw lots of turtles, rays, and saw a lemon shark. If not Francis maybe Salomon. Those two are my favorites.

How about Honeymoon? The views are incredible and you can grab a bite to eat while you're there too, which is always nice. You won't see big sea life but the s oriel ing to the left has a ton of fish and pretty nice coral.

Hello again...We went to Francis Bay. It was great! We saw stingray, turtles, barracuda, gar..AND...We were lucky enough to have a old guy in a thong, (sometimes, dethonged  ) in the spot right next to us..I wouldnt have minded it..if the guy was better looking without the saggy butt. and maybe a little younger...too funny. :P
All in all it was a great day...heading to Aqua Bistro tonight.

Thanks for all the suggestions...I think it may be Salomon tomorrow...Have to find it first..

I will be popping in now and again... So if you all have suggestions on not to be missed ...I am all ears...

Hi Betsy - Well, Francis is one of our favorite beaches and now that you mentioned the thong I will have to bring the whole family :D Sounds like you are having a good time we are only days away now and super excited. I better get packing tonight!! My 12 year old daughter and I want to do the Reef Bay Hike - How was it? We plan on doing both ways and yes will bring plenty of water. Have a great time.

Hawaii, It was a fun hike, although it rained for most of it. I have to say it would have been HOT and sticky without the rain. So we welcomed it.
It will be a LONG hike back up..with a lot of roots and rocks to navigate.
We started at 9 AM, and didn't get back until 3ish..and only had a couple of 15 - 20 min. breaks..one for lunch at the petraglyphs, so pack a sandwich...we picked one up at deli grotto before the hike..it's right in the same area as where we picked up our voucher. Hiking back up would be too ambitious for me...for sure.
The boat ride back was nice and scenic.

Have a good time.

Today Salomon, and Trunk...( No cruise ships today)
