checking in luggage at cruz bay harbor??

Post by vapored58 »

Hi everyone, we'll be getting to cruz bay kinda early to start our vacation, since we'll be staying in STT the day before. We're planning on taking the early ferry from Charlotte Amalie if we can. St. John rental car agency told me our jeep probably won't be ready till about 2pm or so. Could someone please tell me where is the best place to check in luggage so that we can walk to some shops and maybe some close in beaches.

And also, how do ya'll plug in the dates when ya'll are going to be on the island? We'll be there from May 28 - June 8.

Thanks

why not ask them if they would be kind enough to pick you up when you arrive and see if they'll take and hold your luggage until 2.00 pm. Or if your luggage has wheels do a quick right to their office. An easy walk and ask for the favor. If not go next door to the place under the Banana Deck.

Carribean Villa did the booking. When you say, "ask them to take hold of your luggage", I assume that is who you're talking about. Good idea. I'll call them in the morning.

Also, what is the best way to go to Jost for the day.
The ferry is always an option, but was wondering if it wouldnt' be better to hook up w/ one or two couples and a knowledgable captain for about the same $$$. Could do the white bay thing early, go over to Sandy Cay and Sandy Spit, come back to the bars, ie. Foxy's, Ivan's and Soggy Dollar and probably be a more relaxing and easy going day than if we had to be concerned w/ ferry departure times. The captain would/could be the day planner based on his experience.

Our best day probably is Thursday, May 31. We have a dinghy rented for June 1 and are going to Virgin Gorda on June 5 w/ friends met on the boards as well.

Can't believe it's almost time to pack the snorkel gear!!!

Caribbean Villas will take your luggage for you and hold it until it's time to go to your villa. Just give them a call and let them know the day before you get to STJ so they know, or you can just walk it up to the office yourself.

From On-StJohn.com:

Okay gang…another brand new business that you can cheer on for making it. The place is called “Bringin’ The Fun” and it’s above the former location of Everyting (which is now a real estate office), just below Banana Deck. It has Internet, cappuccino, and munchies like bagels, cake and ice cream. Sample prices…Large latte: $4.50. Large espresso: $2.75. Bagel with lox, tomato, red onion and cream cheese: $7.75. And for a fee, you can stash your luggage there. $3 per bag. (They promise to drag your bags up the steps for you.)

Hope that helps!

Just walk one block from the dock to the St. John Car Rental and they will hold your luggage for you until your car is ready.
