AGAIN! Keep us posted. I would love to keep Tage on the list but really the food is the only reason. Atmosphere is so-so.

Thanks for the info. I'm bummed. Tage was at the top of my list to try this trip based on recent reviews. Keep us posted if you hear anything.

Oh no!!! We were going to eat there on our anniversary! Darn it!! This is really upsetting, I loved his food. If he turns up someplace else please post where.

Ted not at Tage?

Post by Flotsam »

I had heard the same thing (quite some time ago, actually), but as of several weeks ago he was still there. I asked the waiter about it, and he said words to the effect that there had been some "issues", but that they were resolved and everything was back to normal.

Point is, I'd certainly call and verify before I'd cancel my dinner plans.

Ted did leave Tage earlier in the year and then returned a few months ago. Pia is correct, I spoke to another on island friend last night that told me the same thing. I heard that he will not be back under any circumstances. ( Not sure what happened, but that is what I was told)

Oh no, not again. We were looking forward to eating there next month. I suppose he’s not going to be cooking anywhere else on St. John…

I'm even more confused than normal.Last summer we went to Tage only to find out Ted had moved back to Conneticutt. Now someone says he was there a few weeks ago and we're going to be there week after next and had already taken Tage off our must eats.I hate to call and ask if Ted is still there and not make a reservation if he is not.But I would also hate to miss his Teragon chocolate souffle, yes I said teragon. It is unbeleivable. We need to get to the bottom of this.

As exisland girl explained Ted started Tage as a working partner with a smaller piece and then left. He was in CT but came back some time ago and Tage has been largely busy and simliar to how it was. But as of this last weekend he is gone once again and still figuring out what he wants to do next. I would not look for him to turn up any time too soon at any other restuarant but he does not seem to be bolting from STJ so you never know given enough in$entive from someone anything is poss.

I heard Brooke who cooked under him at old Paradiso and then took over there for awhile is in the kitchen at Tage now.

We'll update you next on "As the St John Ladle Turns" if we hear anything. Chefs here are getting as bad as NFl Head coaches

Eric- First off, great to see you on the board again.

Secondly, do you have any idea where in CT Ted goes to? I would love it if he ended up somewhere close to me!
