One Particular Harbor - paved road?

Hi All,
I can't get over the amazing views of One Particular Harbor. Thinking about this for Dec. On a youtube video of the drive up, someone posted that the road is now paved all the way to the house. Does anyone know if that is true?

Also, Should we expect it to get shady early in the day? It appears from the location that it would get shady early on.

The road is fully paved.
The deck gets sun in the afternoon, although not direct.

We really liked OPH, let me know if you have any questions

We stayed at OPH in 2006 before the road was paved. It's a great villa, we loved it. The view is amazing. When we were there the pool was heated, it no longer is. We love our pool time and wonder how warm the pool would be, don't think it got much sun.

You can also get there on Bordeaux Mt. Road from Cruz Bay if you choose. 90% of it is paved with a two minute un-paved area that is pretty easy in a 2WD jeep.

We stayed at One Particular Harbor in April 2010. We loved it, BUT the pool was very cold, and we did not use it. By the time we got home in the afternoon the sun was no longer shining onto the pool, and it was frigid. BUT, we loved loved loved the place and the breathtaking views. Depends on what is important to you.

Wonder why they didn't keep the heated pool feature. I would like that if I was renting it..

I believe it was because the pool heater was to expensive to keep up as it would break and the parts would have to come from the states and it became cost prohibitive. Also, when the heater would break, rental guests would be mad that it could not be repaired quickly.

Thanks, Dreamshark. I'm trying to remember how else you could do it other than going into Coral Bay and up. I'm somewhat envisioning a road that you can turn onto off Centerline that cuts over that way. Is that correct?
Sorry for the question... just trying to remember where that's located.

Yeah, the Centerline end of the Bordeaux Mountain Road shoots up into the sky right next to the Bordeaux Overlook. I've never been up it, but I remember looking at it when we stopped to take pictures of the view. The first part of it is steep, but I think it was paved even back in 2001. After that first hill I don't know what it does. Maybe MonkeyNoClimb will come back into the conversation and tell you more.

You can now get to Coral Bay without going all the way on Centerline road. Going from Cruz Bay you follow Centerline past the Reef Bay trailhead. You will come around a hard left bend and make a right turn on a paved road (Bordeaux Mt. Road) that goes between Tutu Silversmiths and some mailboxes. This is the same area where the taxi drivers let everyone out to take pictures of the east view and the BVI's. Follow BMR for a mile and make your first right up a paved road (still BMR). The road will soon go to dirt for two minutes and then back to paved, past Bordeaux Mt. Trailhead on right, continue on paved road up slightly (watch for two peacocks), large stone wall on right and over the crest for a BIG view towards the east at Picture Point. Monkey No Climb is off your first left, Skyflower is next on BMR and OPH will come up in the next minute or so. It is a nice little drive even if you are not staying nearby. BMR is nothing to be scared of anymore.
