Cheap cold beer in Cruz Bay?

Post by jmq »

Back 4-5 yrs ago you could grab two ICE cold Presidente beers for $3 from the sidewalk counter at Caps Place across from Uncle Joes. Anyplace like that now?

I guess the answer is no.

Too bad - it got hard NOT to stop by on the way back thru town when returning from the beach etc. Plus, I remember even literally running over there on the morning of departure to grab 2 while waiting for the ferry LOL

Directly across from the customs area (the metal fence) there is a stand that sells produce. They have a cooler with beer and soda. I grabbed beers there after our BVI boat trip. I can't remember the price but the beer was cold. It is on the same side of the road but a block up from Cap's (on the Mongoose Junction side)

Caps is still there. I am not sure that it is still called Caps (the sign is gone), but it is there and operating in some fashion. I seem to recall a sign for $2 beers last time I went by. I can't remember what kind. There are also a couple of newish convenience stores in town that have cold beer--one by the Fish Trap market, one by Rhumblines.

"Caps" is open at 7:00 AM, very cold beer and they'll bag them to go. I Forget the price per beer but thinking $3.00 this past November.
