Extended Cruz Bay Happy Hour crawl?

Post by jmq »

What would be the latest and greatest suggestions if you wanted to hit 2-3 joints for HH/early evening drinks and apps/shared plates? We don't mind walking so it can stretch from Mongoose to the Beach Bar.
Thanks

Motu for drinks. We hit it a couple of times late afternoon/early evening for pre-dinner drinks. It is great for people watching, comfy furniture and nice wine selections in real glasses.

Please make a stop at the barefoot cowboy...It's up high in the lumber yard complex which overlooks the harbor. Great people watching and fun to watch all of the boats rolling in in the afternoon. Open air patio & for something to share try the pulled pork or brisket nachos...to die for! I might see you there as I am part of the barefoot cowboy and advertise on this sight! Ask for islandbrenda & check out our website for more info barefootcowboylounge.com! Hope I see you there!

islandbrenda, I already have you on my "must try" list. Will stop in sometime between May 4 and 17. Probably Tues. AYCE BBQ! :D

I also like sitting at Spyglass overlooking CB. Their $3 Margaritas are good!
Friends, they go away then they re-appear...I believe there is Magic here.

Spyglass was great in November and we will return in June when we are there. Drinks, fish tacos, conch fritters all great.

mmm...over 500 views but somewhat limited feedback. Are the VIOL forum members too comfy in their villas? :)

Well at least good ole boy jmass10 from OKC has done a lot of this valuable research and shared it over on the TA forum

We really like High Tide on our last visit. Would be my fav spot to go. Drinks & food were great~

I would start at La Plancha del Mar for some of their delicious apps and discounted drinks, then head over to the wharfside area to watch the sunset. Maybe hit the Beach Bar for an order of tuna down now to share and then go to one more place in there for a final glass of wine and the actual sunset. I like the view from the Waterfront Bistro bar but don't know if they do happy hour or not.

Now that I think about it, I have never gone to happy hour on St. John! Not once! I might have to rectify that in July.

Ja, #3 for La Plancha for killer cocktails and killer tasty treats.

The Tap Room for malt beverages and large R&Rs (Root Beer & Rum) and Dark&Stormys.

Fatty Crab for house-made infusions, small batch rum and tasty treats that hit every single flavor sensor.

Bringing the young one?

Indeed. She is looking forward to be able to partake in said crawl - seems she has developed a taste for Cruzan. We depart for the VIs 3 days after she gets back from a 3 week "MayMester" study abroad program that will take her to Berlin, Goettingen, and Munich. We almost pulled the trigger on meeting her in Munich to continue on to a Salzberg/Vienna/Prague central Europe thing that I am itching to do, but a return trip to d'ilons was way overdue and won out.

However, RIGHT after we decided this and booked AF, Springsteen announced his Munich show for 26 May, which would have been a day or 2 after we got there. That really coulda swayed the choice if it was in the mix up front. I keep thinking how cool would that have been to go to that show, especially since we couldn't take in a Bundesliga match, because league play wraps up the week prior (experiencing a top flight soccer game being another thing on the Europe must do list).
