another 'on island ' report
another 'on island ' report
this is sort of abbreviated from my usual LONG>>>>> posts..sprained a finger....
smooth arrival and surprises.... early in , and to our great surprise , our friend Mary has driven from Coral Bay and come over to pick us up-- honestly, i could not believe it! made the 1:30 barge easily and shopped and were over at the house (easy breezes) by 4 or so.. it's a lovely house and the view is wonderful. wonderful dinner (as always) at shipwreck......... first day francis-- lovely and calm -- water not so clear, but had a nice long snorkel up to mary point. Sunday we went to lameshur, which got more crowded than i have seen it in ages! Kids and husband did the hike from there to reef bay and back.... he came back without the kids .... said they were snorkeling back from europa bay.....and i almost bought it..(and was in sort of a panic, thinking of two drowned children and a soon-to-be-dead husband) they thought it was very funny...
home for dinner and cocktails with friends. did i already say the view is amazing????
on Monday some friends who are vacationing with family in STT came over-- they have no car and have never been to STJ-- the original plan was to meet them and hike into Salomon..but looking at the ocean forecast it seemed like it might be a bit rough in that area so we made an executive decision -- I dropped the kids and husband at francis (again) met my friends on the 9 am boat and went back to francis with them-- had a great day hanging out... saw lots of turtles and rays. brought mmy friends back to the ferry , ran back to francis and picked up the rest of my crew and came back to the house -- and had friend s over and Ted cooking-- OH.MY.GOODNESS!
it was SO SO SO great. he is a wonderful chef and a wonderful person- a gft from a friend was included in dinner (another surprise!!!) and that was a very, very sweet gesture (and if you happen to ever read this, much appreciated and totally wonderful)
Princepesa (AKA my 16 yr old) had a villa gravity day today (MOM! i am , like, TOTALLY fried-- i CANNOT sit in the sun today) --I mean WHO RAISED THIS CHILD!????? anyway, salt pond today, boys did rams head we tossed a football (hence the sprained finger) late snack at the tourist trap (check out the awesome t shirts!) and dinner is arriving as i type....tomorrow full moon sail on Kiote....
