After Sir Paul and the Boss visiting the Virgin Islands by yacht a few weeks ago now the leader of Parrothead nation is here building his own Hotel.
This hotel is the original Virgin Grand STT built on the old Pineapple Beach Resort site by the Allen-Williams Company who then went on to build the Virgin Grand on STJ at Great Cruz Bay.

On Friday, March 15, 2013, Jimmy Buffet, Margaritaville executives, the Wyndham Corporation executives, Local dignitaries and guests participated in a ground breaking ceremony.

The Margaritaville ground breaking took place at the old Renaissance Resort in the early afternoon followed by a resort unveiling, Jimmy Buffet playing his guitar and a reception on the beach.

If Jimmy Buffett has a hand in it, it'll be a good thing, and will provide employment for more island residents, and revenue for the local businesses because of the visitors his name will draw. Maybe St. John's economy will show some improvement.

We stayed at the Margaritaville Hotel in Pensacola in February. We really enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were comfortable and the service was superb. The hotel was packed because Jimmy was in town for a concert. Based on this I fully expect this new venture will be equally impressive.
