Current Weather and beach situation

Post by kklay »

Hello all,

I have a few friends on St. John this week and by looking at the SPICE CAM several times over the past couple of days, it looks a little overcast. Just wondering if that has been the case or if I just happen to click on the cam when the clouds are covering the sun? I know there is the high surf advisory and my friends have been frequenting the Coral Bay side, but they've said the water is even churned up on that side as far as good snorkling goes.

My problem is I just wish I was on St. John with them! Oh well, I'll just have to start counting the days until our fall trip! :D

.MARINE...SEAS HAVE BEGUN TO COME DOWN A LITTLE...BUT WILL HAVE TO
EXTEND THE HIGH SURF ADVISORY AGAIN FOR SEAS OF 8 FEET AND 12
SECONDS REACHING THE COAST OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. EXPECT SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORIES TO BE TAKEN DOWN FRIDAY NIGHT IF MODEL SOLUTIONS HOLD.
LOW PRESSURE CAUSING MOST OF THE WAVE GENERATION HAS MOVED AWAY
AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO...ALLOWING SEAS TO SUBSIDE. BUT EXPECT
SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS TO RETURN BY SUNDAY AS ANOTHER
MORE DISTANT WAVE TRAIN ARRIVES AND LOCAL WIND GENERATED SEAS
INCREASE OVER THE WEEKEND.

This was the surf report issued this morning -Thurs 3-14
