Keeping my fingers crossed !
I am begining to think that someone 'up there' doesn't want us to go on this trip!!
Last week my hubby had to have emergency extraction of a lateral incisor , leaving with a toothless grin for our trip.
At the end of last week I had to find an alternate place for my dog to stay.
I work at a rehabilitation center with 90+ inpatients. 20 + are now sick with stomach flu.... I fly on Thursday evening. I took tomorrow and Thursday off in hopes that I will not catch it. Unfortunately, my patient this morning got sick RIGHT after I our time together. Keeping my fingers crossed that the 100x I washed my hands and gloved up in the last week are going to be enough to keep my healthy. My tummy is making all sorts of noises tonight, so I am skeptical.... EEEEEEK

Will keep fingers crossed for you. At least this isn't something airborne, and hand washing and gloves should serve you well! Again - fingers crossed!
I work in Occupational Health at a casino with about 2,000 employees. Our clinic is visited by employees several times a day, for meds to keep them at work, and it's been a bad flu season. We've been very rigid with our hand washing, and not touching our faces, and we've come through the season without a single clinic staff member illness. I should knock on wood. We also wipe all touch points down with disinfectant, 6 times/day. I can vouch for excellent hygeine really helping.

Oh Pam! I'm keeping fingers crossed for you, too. Nothing wrong with a toothless grin and maybe those stomach things are just butterflies of excitement!

Oh no! I will keep my fingers crossed too. The Rehab you work in isn't in Portsmouth NH is it? My Dad is going to one there tomorrow.

Thanks ladies! I am keeping my fingers crossed and toes and legs crossed ... hehehe
Minde.. that is what they say,( not air born) but we have had residents combined to their rooms since last Wednesday and it is still spreading. Maybe its the CNA's not washing well ?!
Joppa- No I work in Maine, doing Occupational Therapy, but the company ( Genesis) has alot of facilities in New England.

wow pam...sounds like a nightmare! and minde- VERY impressed with your record (i work in occ health too-- but not on the patient care end)-- but that is one heck of a track record in a casino of all places!-- getting infection control under wraps is a huge deal (especially with the advent of these 'super bugs')
Pam i hope you are okay for your trip and that you have a wonderful time-- i think we overlap for a few days ? if you happen to be near francis on the 23rd (or lameshur) and see a family of four (two teens, old guy in striped blue and white trunks and old lady in .. well i have no idea at this point! )
anyway, i really hope you are ok....

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I work in the pathology department at SVI here in LR and Minde is right, handwashing has been the key to our lower level of employee sickness this year! We haven't had it very bad because everyone's hands are chapped from washing!
I also keepa large can of Lysol on my desk and I spray the door knobs and in the air when a fellow coworker starts "hacking" up a lung in my office
Sending you good "healthy" thoughts!

Just another day for you, you and me in Paradise...
