Any Car Rental Recommendations -St Thomas
We had planned to rent in St. Thomas for the first time and use Amalie Car Rental. They said there is a chance they could be closed for part of the time we'd be renting due to a family wedding and traveling. Has anyone had good experiences with any other companies on St. Thomas?

That's too bad. That is who I would suggest. Amalie is fabulous in every way.

We've had good luck with Avis. I've seen some bad reviews on them but our Jeep was clean, great condition, and worked fine for our 8 day trip. We took it down every back road we could fine inbetween snorkel runs. Absolutely no problems with pick up or turn in. The staff was courteous if not overly friendly but we're on vacation while they were still at their day job so we definately didn't hold it against them. They deal with tourists that come and go in a rush.
Don't sweat the small stuff!

Is Amalie suggesting you don't book with them due to their wedding obligations or are they just informing you of the chance should you have a problem with your rental?
I have reserved with Amalie for my next trip, they have by far shown us the best customer service of any car rental company we've ever used (for STJ or mainland).
I have used Discount on STT. I have nothing bad to say about them, also nothing to rave about. I would certainly use them again.

This is what they said - (I had requested a reservation for 4/17-4/27)
At this time we cannot confirm any reservations for that time.
Our daughter is getting married off island and we'll be closed from April 14th-24th.
We are trying to find somebody to still do pick ups and drop off for us - we'll know for sure by the end of the week.
I'm hoping they are able to stay open! If not we may be renting on St. John.

We've used Dependable many, many times on St. Thomas and have always had a good experience. I would recommend them if you're not able to rent with Amalie.

We're going just in time. We'd have missed them!
The Constantins provide an exceptionally high level of service, and no doubt it's difficult to find someone who will provide their level of service so they can vacation. I hope they can find someone who fits the bill, but if not, it's probably better for their business if they close than they allow someone with less impeccable timing and friendliness ruin their stellar reputation!
