I've never stayed at Caneel but have seen the property through your report many times in the past. Every time I enjoyed it very much and this was no exception. Thank you for taking me there.

Love the eagle ray photos. We haven't seen them for a while either. Miss them.

Thanks so much for the fantastic report and photos. My family was so excited to hear about the sushi at the Beach Bar. We always do a few days at Honeymoon and then a late lunch at the Beach Bar and then get our parking ticket validated. Can't get over your beautiful night shots with no tripod. I could never do that. My hands must be shaky from all the rum!!

Fave photos = arrow crab (in 2nd installment) and trunkfish in this installment. Trunkfish are the cutest creatures because of their pucker mouths!
We have yet to see an eagle ray....maybe THIS will be the year!

No inside joke. I am guessing, based on the time stamp, that Mr. Dome was possibly suffering from PWI.

2. No, not ice wine. It's a half bottle of sine qua non rose. Hard to get, and really tasty.

3. Yes, definitely. I liked the stairs, and the solitude once you got up there.

Good to know. I would like to add on a couple of nights after a Vila trip but I can't stomach the high season beachfront prices.
