Any Beach Advice For A Layover In Puerto Rico?
Any Beach Advice For A Layover In Puerto Rico?
I'm thinking of spending a couple of days in Puerto Rico on my way down to St John and was wondering what might be some good beaches to visit while I'm there. Maybe a beach with some good snorkeling if possible.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

This trip report is from before the format change, so the photos don't show up, but perhaps you can find some helpful information here:

Or perhaps you could PM the forumite, who seemed to know his way around really well! Good luck!

not beach advice but if you like city sights, check out Old San Juan if you haven't visited yet. We did 3 nights last year on the way to STJ. A link to my trip report

Puerto Rico is much larger than any VI, so it would help if you narrowed down the area you plan to visit. I've spent time on the east coast and went to Culebra so got a chance to see a few beaches.
If I were you, I'd stay on Luquillo (so?)beach, but also take a day trip to Culebra to visit Flamenco Beach. I went there on a snorkeling excursion with Kayaking Puerto Rico, and it was the best!
You should also go to Old San Juan for a day and check their National Park site for activities.
