Thanks Minde...You're right ...it is coming together ! Every time we have had anyone go with us it has been family. When you are taking people other than family ... it just kind of makes you a little nervous at first. I am one of those kind of people that wants to be able to account for every penny you get from others. And being "Newbies" they aren't familier with the higher cost of things on the Islands. Read your report and glad you had such an awesome time !!

p.s. GotToGetAway...so glad the June rates are lower. If we had gotten just an SUV for 11 days straight, it was topping the $1000. mark with taxes and fees. By getting the 2 seperate vehicles it is going to be almost $250 less. I can use that savings.

I should have thought of your small car-large car solution. We did just that on a trip 5 years ago where 2 couples went 5 days before the other couple. The newbies that were with us initially to get the lay of the land got their own small jeep for the second week after splitting the cost of a small 4 door with us for the first 5 days. During those first few days we did a ferry trip to the Baths, spent the day at Honeymoon, went to Maho, shopped and had lunch at Mongoose, e.g. things that didnt keep us squeezed into the small car for long.The other couple who joined us for the full week later split a larger jeep with us and the "lovebirds knew enough of the island by then to go off on their own.

If it makes you feel any better I am paying close to 500.00 for a 2 door jeep for 1 person, yikes! Like Pia said, it is what it is, I rather have the freedom to come and go as I please and you get to share costs, which I don't, but it's all good!!

Really... we are spending around $500 for a 4 door grand vitara with ac... Of course we are sucking it up and renting from Sutton You may not want to do that depending on how you feel.

Did you let your friends know that you will be splitting the car rental cost. Make sure you cover all those kinds of things ahead of time...Sharing grocery costs, etc....Less fussing when you are on vacay.....
