Here We Go!
We had looked into several vacation spots for the last week of March. St. John was at the top of my list and the kids were leaning that way also. The decision was made 2 days ago and I started the villa search. I couldn't believe it, everything was booked. I eventualy found one that was available yesterday morning and at lunch went home and was going to show my wife. When we went to look, it was not available anymore
I was starting to have some worries. Yesterday evening I was able to do some more searching and found another villa that was available. I immediatley called Hoosiermommy to get her approvale and called the rental company. To my disbelife that morning someone had rented it starting on the last 2 days we were wanting it. Alas what to do? So I made the decision that vacation would start one day earlier and that we would try to find a place other than our villa to stay on the last night. So now my search begins for a one nighter either on St. John or St. Thomas.

Cruz Bay Boutique across from Lime Inn. http://www.cruzbayhotel.com/. Can't go wrong!
Re: Here We Go!
We will be there (along with half of the eastern seaboard--hate school vacation week vacations!) that week as well wtih our kids-
maybe we'll bang into you somewhere! we are staying in calabash boom.
I am sure you have done this-- but have you gone to VRBO and used the calendar function-- there seemed to be a lot available (though some folks are not great with updating the calendars there....)

Re: Here We Go!
Did you get your plane tickets yet?
We did an overnight on STT two trips ago. We stayed at the Green Iguana and it was perfectly fine for one night. I got the impression that it isn't the greatest part of town at night. We were told not to walk home after dinner. Otherwise, it was a nice, clean place to stay. We enjoyed visiting Blackbeard's Castle right next door.
I will look at BW Emerald Beach next time we stay over on STT.
We enjoyed the STT for one night more than I thought we would, it cut down on the travel/connections stress. I would do it again.

Re: Here We Go!
Thanks for the help. Hopefully I will get a chance this evening to fine a place for the last night. Not sure if we want to stay on St. John or St. Thomas.
Yes I have gotten plan tickets (thanks for the reminder PA Girl).
Loria, I looked on VRBO but didn't see the calander function. That may have made the search much easier.
Kevino, I have seen the butique hotel in the past and it looks like a nice place to spend a night or two.

I'd make the STJ v. STT decision based on your flight time to make last day travel easier.
We like to stay at the Marriott!

If you have toddlers to teens, the Island Beachcomber is not a bad place to stay for a night or two. They can walk up and down the beach, you can walk to the playground with a stroller and they have decent food to eat at the bar on the beach. We have done it many timesin the past with my sister and her toddler twins when we used to travel down for business. Kids loved to watch the planes.

Thanks for all the help. We have a 2:30 flight time so no problem there. I think we have decided to stay on St. Thomas. The kids think it would be fun to stay on two islands. Sounds more exotic I think.
