Bob Marley (OT)

Post by Jerseyboy »

Bob Marley passed away on this day in 1981, so it's a good day to listen to some Marley tunes....well, it's always a good day to listen to Bob. 8)

Thanks for the heads up.

If you want to hear some good music of that style, check out Stephen Marley. Saw him at Jazz Fest last weekend and he was one of my favorite acts. I think he is Ziggy's son. He has a very similar sound to Bob Marley and even sang some of his songs.

Stephen Marley

Stephen Robert Nesta "Raggamuffin" Marley is actually the son of Bob Marley and brother of Ziggy. I've heard his voice sounds uncannily like his Dad's and I'm anxious to pick up his new album based on nothintolose's review...

Bob definitely knew how to spread the love (and not necessarily with Rita). Another one of his sons had a relationship with Lauryn Hill (Fugees).

Randy - thanks for the correction. It's amazing how much he sounded like Bob Marley!

You'll have to let me know how the cd is.

Yeah, his stage at Jazz Fest was PACKED and he was playing at the same time as Galactic, Cowboy Mouth (local favorite), and Dr. Michael White to name a few.

Thanks for the note on Bob Marley - I was in Jamaica a few months back and visited his home and final resting place. He is one of my favorites and always gets me in the island mood. I too will have to check out his son's music.

Thanks!

Very funny Bill - I knew just who you were talking about without even watching the you tube video! He was very entertaining!
