We bring one flat king sized sheet that I use for laying on the beach. The sheet & masking tape for east facing windows is and excellent idea though, we'll have to try it! My sheet can do double duty!

We stayed in an east facing room in November, the curtains were sheer white... It was pretty hard to sleep past sunrise.

Bongi cords, clothes line and clothes pins, spices, kitchen knives, zip-lock bags of all sizes, parachute fabric blankets a various sizes for the beach and we've used them with the bongi cords to rig up a wind block and. of course, a roll of duct tape.

Pam - Yes, knives either get checked if we're doing so, or mailed ahead if we're doing that.
Something I bought this year that was super cheap and came in handy many times was a packet of 6 carabiners - cheap ones - that were maybe 3" long. Used them for all kinds of things like keeping house and car keys together, hanging another item or bag off of my backpack - like shoes or fins. These went right back into the STJ packing pile for next trip. They cost maybe $3 on amazon.

We stayed at Cinnamon bay one time for 10 days. I brought 2 dinner plates  The plates that came with the tent were green plastic divided plates and I just couldn't eat off of them for 10 days. It would have ruined some very good meals. When my husband realized I packed plates he thought I was crazy. When I cooked up his Rib Eye steak and served it to him he was grateful that he had that plate.

My own pillowcase. I also pack ziplock bags of drink mixes, pancake mix, flour, sugar, rice, noodle and brownie mixes and place them into a sealable plastic shoe box then into the suitcase. This keeps them from getting punctured in my suitcase and keeps the bugs and moisture out while at the villa.

I brought a small blowup swimming pool to bathe our little granddaughter. Our villa didn't have a bathtub but had a huge shower where we kept the pool.

I bring an ear dryer too!!! Crazy as it sounds, when I practically live in the water on vacation, I need it to prevent swimmers ear.

I was going to bring something I saw for drying up swimmers ear. Last year I had one deaf ear the whole time we were there! LOL I will have to check out 'ear dryers' !

This is a great idea!! I would love to watch even more birds.. we put out sugar every morning.

After reading about a couple of people having problems with mice, I think my oddest thing is going to be a couple of mouse traps!!

Well I'm sure lots of people would consider it odd that I packed my full wetsuit last year and used it everyday (last week of March-early April). I stayed out in the water snorkeling as long as I wanted and it was great.

I never knew that this existed, but now will be bringing one on my July trip - have the same issue as both of you!
