One Day in Paradise
The day is in mid-March. We've got the Jeep reserved. Our ship docks at 11A (ship time, might be noon in USVI ) and leaves at 7P. We have eight hours max.
It's been five years since our last visit. No telling when we might get back after this. So the question I need to answer: what to do with this one day to make the perfect itinerary?
Here's what I've come up with: I'm pretty sure that as soon as we pick up the Jeep, we'll make our way on Centerville/10 to Coral Bay and have lunch at Skinny Legs. Then maybe drive to East End, come back and drive the 20 and stop to hike down to Denis Bay beach or just go to Hawksnest, spread a blanket and enjoy the beach. I don't want the day to be hectic or stressful; we just want to drink in as much of the magic as we can in a few hours.
What would you do if you just had 8 hours in St. John?

Where did you rent the jeep STT or STJ IF stj I'd take the 5:00 ferry back you might want to do your beaching first so your off of the before the noseeums come out.

Assuming you are docking in STT and not arriving on a smaller exclusive ship that docks in St John, If you dock at 11am you will be on the noon from Red Hook IF you are first off the ship so arriving in St John at 12:20pm. If your ship departs at 7pm you are required to be on board 30 minutes before departure so 6:30pm therefore on the 5pm ferry to Red Hook at the latest and if you are docked at Crown Bay I recommend the 4pm due to traffic at Raphune Hill (even if at Havensite you will be cutting it close on the 5pm as traffic can get really backed up at that time of day) so having said all that you have a maximum of 41/2 hours on St John - you might want to rethink your day.

Skip the car rental. Skip coral bay drive and skip skinny legs. Do grab some lunch in cruzbay and head to a north shore beach by taxi or hike honeymoon. If you get tired of the beach take taxi back to ferry dock and relax with a few drinks while you wait for the ferry. Do not rush or try to do too much.
