waterproof pouch for snorkeling

Post by Wanda Creech »

Looking for a good pouch to keep credit card, keys, and money in while snorkeling. Have
been using a plastic case that clamps down to close. It only cost about 10 bucks but it
always leaks. Just looking at a Pak Pak. Has anyone used one and have any other ideas
for keeping money dry when swimming?

Hi Wanda, I bought a kwik tek alligator dry pack (amazon.com)It's small 4 x 4 inches and you can hang it around your neck or stuff it in a shorts pocket that you can close. I have not gone snorkeling with it yet, but I put some paper in it and tested it out at home. It worked great, you need to be patient when you close it and seal it just right, other than that, it's perfect for keys, money, however, it's not large enough for a phone.

Used Aquapac on our trip a couple weeks ago. 2 iphones...Ruined.
The first day, it worked great..
The second day...not so great...Don't recommend for anything of value. Keys, money, etc aren't such a big deal if wet.

Oh...crap I JUST orded an Aquapac. I DO see they have a good warranty...guessing they warranty the BAG and NOT it's contents...

Oh well, we'll see how it works. I don't think I'm putting my iphone or wallet in there now.

I have 3 different size Aqua pacs. Never had a problem. Hubs even slipped getting into the water with fins and our expensive camera went all the way under, no problem. I use one to protect my Nook at the pool and beach and bathtub :P but I have never dunked it. I can't imagine water getting in with the double seal.

I have used a Pak Pak for the past 4 years. I can fit car key, credit card, and some cash in it. It has never leaked. I actually use it as my primary wallet while I am on the island.

I have been looking for another one for a couple of years but haven't been able to find one. I am not sure they are still made.

If you find a place to purchase them please post the site or PM me.
Thanks
John
