That was a fun read iprof. I just made reservations for the reef trail with the NPS. It sounds like a fun hike, especially for newbies. Thanks for posting...

For the Reef Trail guided hike...just how far ahead of time can you make a reservation. Better question: how far ahead SHOULD you make a reservation?

Hi zhawkz, I'm a St. John newbie, but from everything I've read that hike fills up fast. I don't normally like to go on guided hikes, but this is a long downhill hike and if you go on your own you have to climb back up the hill...but with this hike the NPS gives you a boat ride back. Plus, my husband loves guided historical tours. So, if you want to go, I'd pick a day and book it. You can always cancel....I think you can cancel 48 or 24 hours before your scheduled hike without penalty and it was 30.00 pp.
Have fun!
